Love to you all, I let know who is Grammy's winner few days ago.. In general, I am not surprised because I know what is a method of admmiting this prize, if anyone is connected with Bob Marley.. We already know the winner. This time, Ziggy Marley won again . He got the Grammy for the best reggae album "Fly Rasta". His album beat another which should get a chance for me. Nominated were: SOJA, SLY&ROBBIE&SPICY CHOCOLATE, SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL (?) and LEE SCRATCH PERRY (with a really good album- "Back on the controls"). Anyway, I dont really know why Sean Paul was nominated in this category.. It's kinda funny because it shows lack of the professionalism of the jury. The rule of selection is.. MARLEY. Last year many great albums were also nominated and the winner was... Please, dont get an heart attack, it can be a big surprise for u ;).. Ziggy Marley with his album "In concert".. At first I thought it was a joke.. No, I still think it is the joke. ;) By the way, I dont think he is a bad artist, I could never say it, but the grammy ought to be the prize for really talented artist, not only for these the best known artist (maybe they should create a new category - THE MOST FAMOUS REGGAE ALBUM). Few positive words now, I think it's really catchy album, great back vocals and positive vibes.. Now, the best song from the album (for me) with great vocal of U-ROY:
Ey you all! Im a little bit late but on Febuary 6th we celebrated 70th b-day of the Reggae King, RobertNesteaMarley! What it is a day for all the reggae fans, full of joy and remembrance of his message. Bob Marley showed something new to the world, something very special, something very important for us. He was spreading an imagine of world where no matter is your colour of the skin, full of equal rights and justice. He wasn't only GANJA smoker as many people think nowadays when they hear "BOB MARLEY"- "AH, WEED!". He brought us a spiritual message, I still can feel mental and spirtual connection with him even when his body is dead. In trubute to the King, a small piece of his art.
Ey y'all! I feel I really have to show u this little boy who sings Bob Marley's songs! It's worth seeing and I am touched every single time I watch him. How he moves, how he sings! He's so adorable. And I feel commited to support small talents like his. 2 years old and being such a big performer? Wow, I still can't believe. TELL CHILDREN THE TRUTH ;) Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a pleasure to annouce a new reggae generation, a new reggae artist: MYLES KINGSTON!
Ey u all! I am back here with a problem which can concern everyone! We women take it really seriously, what is it? Extra pounds.. Yes, I'm feeling kinda like a hippo after this holidays but I decided to take care of myself more. I workout everyday but this time I feel I need to do something extra. Maybe Im not the best cook but Im trying my best. :) Except my workout, I cook some nice vegeterian dishes lately, full of proteins and vitamins but not greasy!! I made today some leantil with a spinach, a peper, carrots, a zucchini, an onion and cocount milk.. Yummy. Maybe it's not a super regiment to lose the pounds but it can help our digestive system to detox and take a break after the holidays full of heavy food. Bless up, Paula
Ey all! It has been long time.. Today I am going to share with u my experience from a very magical place.. It's Bielawa (situated in Southern Poland). The first thing I have to say is that people over there are lovely, very nice and am totaly in love with them (with a bus driver who said that I dont have to pay for a ticket and a really nice cook from the hotel who noticed my positive energy and told me that can cook for me whatever I want, even when something is not in menu..;)) But let's get back to the main topic about the festival. Well, it was in the last part of August, 3 days of fantastic vibes. Unfortunately, I went there only for the weekend, but it was such a great experience. It was my first time there but I felt like in my hometown. I like small towns, full of beautiful souls around, it always makes me feel like in another space, without all these bad energy around. The fest organized kinda well, I didn't eat anything at the gastronomic zone because we cooked at our hotel but all the shows were recommendable, too many great artists to describe them. But what I really enjoyed were the show of JAH9 (a really fantastic woman, with beautiful pitch of voice and real jamaican energy.. Moreover, she's- I think- the most famous female reggae artist now, and it was a big blessing to feel her vibe in Poland) and JUNIOR KELLY (a big big jamaican artists with raggamuffin power). All these 2 artists were backed by my family, Dubtonic Kru band. :) The only one negative thing during Bielawa Reggae fest was the weather (it was really really cold in the night and I was drinking teas the whole time). But next year, the fest will be organized in June so to all who have never been there, I invite you there, you will be satisfaited with high level of "di shows dem" ;) Irie ites outta JA! And as always after my reviews, few pics from there: JAH9
Ey! Today am gonna continue my reggae reviews reffering to OstródaReggaeFestival, 14th edition. This year, it was my 4th Ostróda. It is believed that this fest is the best one in Poland.. But my opinion is a little different because I think it turned in more comercial way which I am not really into. I went there only for one day (because my budget was getting smaller and smaller) but I decided to go there because of my boyfriend who said that I couldn't miss it esspecially when my favourite band played there. I was so happy to go there, in real but the first thing which greeted me there was.. a thunder storm (but it's normal for that fest anyway :)). At the festival zone, I had a really big problem to find something to eat because there were many fast-foods but where is food for the vegetarians and vegans, which is kinda healthy? There was the only one place where I decided to eat and it was Ethopian cuisine (a really delicious one, with fresh food). After, when it stopped raining, I went thought the stalls with souvenirs, Rasta clothes, jeverly ect. I really love it! Next, I wanted to jam a little, feel the vibes. The fist show I went was Meta and The Cornerstones and as I didn't have any expetitions before, during the show I really fell in love with their vibes, multicultural atmosphere and beautiful message "Peace, love and harmony"- that's all we need people! Afterwards, the show gave Chronixx (a big big star outta JA), he's really popular one, I sang the songs with him but it wasn't the show which I imagined. It was good, but looked like he is just working. And after.. The show I waited for, Rootz Underground. Oh man, how excited I was to see them after 2 yrs. They didn't give their best, I was on their 3 shows and this one was the worst for me, but it was kinda powerful, I had fun. I don't want to show this festival in negative way because it's a special place for me, and I'm not gonna stop going there, but I think that there is some true in it. Well, as always, few pictures and video:
Ey everyone! Hope all is well.. I'm gonna share with u my own review of reggae fests which took part last summer in Poland, I attended there so I think my opinion is not imaginary. So let's start with the first one... It is.. REGGAENAPIASKACH (eng. Reggae on the beach). The festival takes place every year since 14 yrs in Ostrów Wielkopolski, for me, it's really beautiful place surrounded by a lake, a forest. I did really fall in love when I went there for a walk and saw this absolutely fantastic views. This fest is not the biggest or the most famous one in Poland, it's more kind of family festival with positive ambiance everywhere. The organization was pretty cool and organisators of Reggae na Piaskach are fantastic, friendly people (what could make you feeling a real jamaican vibe over there)! Irie ites, smiling face and fantastic weather.. What about some music?! There were of course some polish musicans and two Jamaican bands: DUBTONIC KRU AND (a young blood outta Jamaica) IBA MAHR. Of course it was the point of the program and of course shows were played on the highest level of the music (as always ;))! Sunday was concentrated on reggae contest where some new reggae bands competed to win. Well, what can I say more.. The best way is to see this on the video below and there are some my pics from a fantastic weekend in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
